CRAB Park at Portside
About
This is where the city’s industrial heart meets the ocean. It’s a peaceful, spacious oasis that feels a world away from the hustle of Gastown. You’ll see SeaBuses gliding by, helicopters taking off nearby, and massive cruise ships docked at Canada Place. It’s a diverse, community-focused park that has a very “authentic Vancouver” feel unpretentious and scenic.
The off-leash area is located on the east side of the park. It features expansive grassy meadows that are perfect for dogs who love to run and roll. While there is a small beach area, the waterfront within the dog boundary is quite rocky with large boulders, so it’s more of a “sniff the sea air” spot than a “swimming” spot for most pups.
💡 Barkcouver Tip
Keep a close eye on the clock here! The off-leash hours change with the seasons. In the summer (May–Sept), it’s 6am–10am and 5pm–10pm, but in the winter (Oct–April), the dogs can roam all day long (6am–10pm). Also, remind your readers to stay at least 15 meters away from the playground/spray park area—the Park Board is strict about that!
