Queen Elizabeth Park
About
Queen Elizabeth Park is a 52-hectare destination that combines high-end landscaping with rugged, open green spaces. The dedicated off-leash area is located on the south side of the park, near the intersection of West 37th Avenue and Columbia Street.
Unlike the tight, fenced enclosures of downtown, this is one of the city’s largest unfenced off-leash zones. It is a vast, rolling grassy field that sits right next to the tennis and basketball courts. Because of its elevation, it often catches a lovely breeze, making it a favorite for “frenzy runners” who need a lot of room to burn off steam. It’s a very social spot where the community vibe is high, and the backdrop of mature trees and city views is hard to beat.
💡 Barkcouver Tip
Because this area is unfenced and sits near a sidewalk and road, it’s best for dogs with solid recall. If your pup is a “distracted” player, try to stay toward the center of the field.
