About
Quilchena Park is a sprawling, high-prestige park known for its rolling hills, majestic poplar trees, and a sense of wide-open freedom. Because it was originally a golf course, the terrain is beautifully contoured, offering more visual interest than your standard flat city field.
The off-leash area is one of the largest in Vancouver, consisting of a massive, unfenced grassy bowl. It is a social hub where you’ll see everything from professional dog walkers with “the pack” to local families. Because the space is so vast, it’s the best place on the Westside for high-energy dogs that need to sprint at full speed without ever feeling crowded.
💡 Barkcouver Tip
Because this park is unfenced and features a Disc Golf course that runs right through the middle, keep a close eye on your dog if they have a “high toy drive.” A flying frisbee is very tempting, and you don’t want your pup “intercepting” a local’s game!
Insider Move: If you visit during the winter, the western slopes of the park are one of Vancouver’s most famous tobogganing hills. It’s a great place to bring the dog for some snow-play, but it gets very busy, so early morning is your best bet for a quiet winter romp.
