Musqueam Park
About
Musqueam Park is essentially a massive, unfenced forested estate. It is highly regarded for its dual-personality play zones:
-
The Forest Trails: The park features a beautiful network of off-leash trails that wind through lush, second-growth forest filled with ferns and thimbleberries. It’s a quiet, serene environment where you’re more likely to hear bird calls than traffic.
-
The Soccer Fields: A large clearing in the park accommodates two grassy soccer fields. When they aren’t being used for games, these provide a massive, open-air arena for long-distance fetch and high-energy sprinting.
Because the park is a bit of a “hidden gem” and sits near the Musqueam First Nation lands and the Shaughnessy Golf Club, it tends to be much quieter and less crowded than nearby Pacific Spirit or Spanish Banks.
💡 Barkcouver Tip
Watch for Horses! Musqueam is one of the few city parks where horseback riding is common. If your dog has never seen a horse, keep them close or on-leash until you’re sure they won’t bark or chase—horses can be easily spooked!
Hours: Unlike many neighborhood parks with split hours, the off-leash area at Musqueam Park is generally open 6:00 am to 10:00 pm.
