About
Nelson Park is a lush, three-acre urban sanctuary located in one of the most densely populated residential areas in North America. The park is famous for its mature trees, winding pathways, and the popular West End Farmers Market that takes place right alongside it.
The dedicated off-leash dog area is located on the west side of the park. It is a social, high-traffic spot where local pet parents gather daily. While the park feels peaceful and “slow,” the dog enclosure is usually buzzing with activity, making it the perfect place for social dogs who love to play with their neighbors.
💡 Barkcouver Tip
If you have a “High Jumper,” keep a close watch! The decorative fencing at Nelson is a bit lower than at some other city parks. Also, if you visit on a Saturday morning in the summer, you can hit the West End Farmers Market right next door before heading to the park—it’s a great way to spend a local morning, though the market itself is on-leash only.
