Renfrew Community Park
About
The Renfrew off-leash area is a fully fenced, state-of-the-art enclosure located near the Renfrew Community Centre. This isn’t just a fenced-off patch of grass; it was designed with high-quality materials to solve the “Vancouver Mud” problem.
The surfacing is a specialized all-weather gravel (fines) that provides excellent drainage and a clean surface for dogs to run on, even during the rainiest months. It is exceptionally popular with owners of “fluffy” dogs who want to avoid the bathtub after a park visit. The park is well-lit and feels very secure, making it a reliable hub for the local community from sunrise to sunset.
💡 Barkcouver Tip
If your dog needs a “mental break” from the high-energy play inside the fence, put the leash back on and explore the Still Creek trails within the larger park. It’s a beautiful, forested walk that feels surprisingly “wild” for being in the middle of the city.
Insider Move: This park is a “rainy day” favorite. While other East Van parks like Trout Lake become mud-pits, Renfrew stays relatively dry. If it’s been pouring all week, this is the place to go if you want to keep your car (and your dog) clean.
