Sunrise Park
About
Sunrise Park is a well-maintained, mid-sized green space known for its lush grass and gentle slopes. It has a classic “family park” feel, with a playground and community gardens, but it’s the expansive southern field that draws in the local dog owners.
The off-leash area is an unfenced grassy field located at the south end of the park, near East 5th Avenue. It’s a wide-open, clean space that is perfect for dogs who just want to sniff around, play a gentle game of fetch, or socialize in a low-stress environment. Because the park is slightly “sunken” away from the main streets, it feels safe and contained, even without a fence.
💡 Barkcouver Tip
Sunrise Park follows the standard Split Hours: dogs are allowed off-leash from 6:00 am to 10:00 am and 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
Insider Move: This park is a “sniffing paradise.” Because it’s a bit quieter, the perimeter of the field is often less “trampled” than busier parks, making it a goldmine for dogs who love a slow, investigative walk. It’s the perfect spot for an older dog or a pup who gets overwhelmed by high-energy crowds.
