About
Sunset Beach Park is a beautiful, laid-back coastal stretch that links the West End to the Burrard Street Bridge. While the park is a hub for cyclists and sunset watchers, it is a major destination for dog owners thanks to its unique waterfront off-leash area. Located directly behind the Vancouver Aquatic Centre, the dog park offers a rare mix of grassy upland and a small, sandy beach. It’s a social and scenic spot where dogs can alternate between sprinting on the lawn and cooling off in the calm waters of English Bay.
💡 Barkcouver Tip
Sunset Beach is home to the False Creek Ferry. If you want a “mini-adventure,” you can hop on the ferry with your dog (they ride for free!) and head across the water to Granville Island or Kits Point for a change of scenery.
Insider Move: This is the best park in the city for a “Date Night” with your dog. Grab a takeout pizza from one of the many spots on Davie Street, walk down to the grass bowl, and watch the sun dip behind the mountains while your pup plays.
