Sparwood Park
About
Sparwood Park is a 1.2-hectare green space that feels like a hidden hollow. The off-leash area is an unfenced grassy field located on the east side of the park (the side closer to Kerr Street).
The park is notable for its mature, towering trees and its slightly “sunken” bowl shape, which provides a natural sense of containment even without a fence. It’s much smaller and quieter than the sprawling fields of Killarney, making it a perfect sanctuary for dogs that get overwhelmed by big crowds or for owners looking for a focused, peaceful training session.
💡 Barkcouver Tip
Like many neighborhood parks, Sparwood follows Split Hours: dogs are allowed off-leash from 6:00 am to 10:00 am and 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
Insider Move: Because Sparwood is tucked away between houses, the wind is often blocked by the surrounding buildings and trees. If it’s a blustery day at the wide-open Killarney fields, Sparwood is often much calmer and warmer.
