Stanley Park
About
Located in the southwest corner of Vancouver’s crown jewel, the Stanley Park off-leash area is a specialized, fully fenced enclosure. Occupying what was once a shuffleboard court, this park offers a unique, structured environment for play. While the rest of Stanley Park’s 1,000 acres requires a leash, this “boutique” dog park provides a safe, contained space for downtown and West End pups to socialize without the worry of wandering into the forest or toward the busy Seawall traffic.
Because of its smaller size and flat, paved-under-gravel foundation, it is particularly popular with owners of small-to-medium breeds and those who want a quick, clean romp before heading back to the nearby West End high-rises.
💡 Barkcouver Tip
This park has slightly different hours than the main city parks; it is typically open from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm. Because it’s quite small, it can get “cozy” during the after-work rush (5pm–6pm).
Insider Move: Use this park as your “warm-up.” Let your dog get the social energy out in the fenced area first, then put the leash on and enjoy the world-famous trails around Lost Lagoon, which is only steps away!
