Emery Barnes Park
About
Emery Barnes Park is a beautifully designed urban oasis that feels like a “secret garden” tucked between Seymour and Richards Streets. While the park features a stunning stream-like water fountain, a vibrant children’s playground, and winding pedestrian paths, its main attraction for pet parents is the newly renewed (2025) off-leash area.
This space was specifically expanded and upgraded to handle the high volume of city dogs in the neighborhood. It is one of the most social parks in the city—a place where residents meet, dogs play, and the busy energy of Davie Street feels miles away.
💡 Barkcouver Tip
Emery Barnes is one of the best spots for night owls. Because it’s surrounded by tall residential buildings and well-lit by city streetlights and park lamps, it feels safe and remains active well into the evening.
Insider Move: If the main dog park is too busy, grab a coffee from across the street and take a leashed walk through the park’s “vine-covered pergola” area—it’s one of the most Instagrammable spots in the neighborhood when the flowers are in bloom!
